COMBINED PISTOL DAY!!!
Close Quarters Engagement Pistol Class (4 Hours) Multiple Threat Pistol Engagement (4Hours) 14 Jan 2023 Close Quarter Engagement Pistol is designed to prepare students for the real world dynamics of sudden, violent confrontation and attacks. Multiple threats are an eventuality we must plan for if we are to be truly prepared. One threat must be engaged before allowing our attention to transition to the next. What can a responsible Citizen do if suddenly and violently attacked? Do you have the knowledge, skills and ability to retain and effectively use your EDC when an attacker is within arm’s reach? Do you know the most effective target zones to deliver practical, effective and stopping shots? Focus will be on drawing from concealment. The use of IWB/AIWB or other concealment type holsters with shirt or vest for concealment is highly recommended. Bring your EDC and the equipment and dress you normally utilize. The skills you learned on the target shooting range or in your CCW class may not work for you when the fight happens within arms’ reach. Extreme close range gun fighting is a completely different skill set, one that relies far more on FIGHTING than on mere shooting. With approximately 50% of gunfights occurring at ranges closer than five feet, you need this skill set!
Multiple Threat Pistol Engagement Multiple threats are an eventuality we must plan for if we are to be truly prepared. One threat must be engaged before allowing our attention to transition to the next. It is estimated that the number of adversaries encountered in a handgun fight has been steadily increasing since the 90s. It seems that it is customary nowadays to deal with multiple targets at once in handgun fights. This new norm forces the responsible gun owner to learn to engage multiple adversaries effectively! They need to train to deal with a situation in which they are outnumbered, and they have to learn how to defeat two, three, or perhaps four adversaries. A situation all defensive-minded shooters must prepare for is when an attacker who is threatening you or a loved one is not working alone. Since bad guys generally get to choose when and where they conduct their felonious activities, they also get to choose whom they invite. And if they bring a friend or two, we want to be prepared. In this article I will discuss a transition technique used in engaging multiple targets, followed by a couple of different tactics, and finally we’ll put it all together in a practical application by adding movement. Expect to fire about 400-600 rounds of ammunition. This course is designed expressly for the armed citizen who carries a concealed handgun, or the plain clothes or off duty police officer. You will need a good handgun, holster, belt, and magazine pouch, at least three magazines, a ball cap and concealment garment (vest, jacket, windbreaker, over shirt, polo shirt, etc), eye and ear protection, and rain gear (we train rain or shine). A cooler with soft drinks, water, snacks and lunch will be needed, for lunch on site. We will not be leaving the campus for lunch. You will need a quality handgun and gear. It is a good idea to bring a second gun just like your primary, in case something breaks on your primary gun. Please bring good quality ammunition. You will shoot better, your gun will function better, and you will learn faster. Leather or kydex holsters are fine—PLEASE NO flimsy nylon or cloth holsters. AIWB is allowed. Either IWB or OWB holsters are fine, as long as they are worn concealed. Your primary instructor will be Kyle Barrington, Full refunds are available until 30 days prior to class date. There are NO REFUNDS later than 30 days before class date. |
